The church has a strong music tradition. The music chosen is a mix of traditional Anglican music and modern composers. Hymns are chosen by the music director in consultation with the Rector. There is a choir of about 15 volunteer parishioners. There are two paid choral scholars from Acadia University who serve as assistants to the music director and as voice leads for Soprano/Alto and Tenor/Bass parts. As a professor on staff at the University, the current music director brings a number of students to the choir or to provide instrumental solos to enhance the worship. Alternative music, such as Celtic or folk-styled, is offered on occasions such as an outdoor summer Eucharist and the All Soul’s liturgy. Choir practice has gone on-line with Zoom rehearsals and some virtual recordings to share on the recorded service found on our YouTube channel.
This parish feels strongly about music and how it enhances and aids in expression of our faith.
